Privacy policy

CricBrew is an app and website for scoring amateur cricket and keeping a group's match history and stats. It is run by [your name or company], [address] ("we"). This policy says what we collect, why, who can see it, and how you can have it changed or deleted. Questions or requests: privacy@cricbrew.com.
Who can have an account
Accounts are for people aged 18 and over; you confirm this when you start. Younger players can still appear in a group's matches, added by an adult who scores (see "Players" below), but they don't have accounts. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we'll delete it.
What we collect
Your account. If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and Google account ID. With email: your email address and a password (stored by Google's sign-in service, not readable by us). As a guest: an anonymous ID. We also keep that you confirmed you're 18 or older (not your date of birth), and whether you've chosen to show your profile on cricbrew.com.
Your groups. The groups you create or join, their names, the members' names as shown in the app, and each member's role (Owner, Scorer or Viewer).
Players. Members who score add the people they play with as player records: a name, and optionally a nickname, jersey number, photo, batting hand, bowling style, playing role, and whether the player is under 18. Player records never hold contact details or dates of birth.
Matches.Scorecards and the ball-by-ball record: who batted and bowled, runs, wickets, extras, the time and time zone of the match, and which account scored it. Statistics, records and "player of the match" are worked out from these.
Match photos and clips.Members can add up to 10 photos and 3 short video clips (15 seconds, with sound) to a match, taken while scoring or added from their phone within two days. We keep each one (clips compressed on the phone), a small preview image, when in the match it was taken (e.g. "Ov 3.4") and who added it. Only the group's members see them, unless an Owner of a public group chooses to show a match's photos on cricbrew.com (see below).
Links to player records. If you claim a player record as yourself, we keep the link, your name and email address with the request (seen only by that group's Owners), and a profile combining your linked records.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, a report goes to Firebase Crashlytics: the device model, operating system, app version and technical details of the crash. It doesn't include your matches or messages.
We don't collect your location, contacts or phone number, and we don't show advertising.
Who can see what
Your group's memberssee the group's players, matches and stats, and the members list. If you link yourself to a player record, members of the groups you're linked in see your profile.
Everyone, for public groups. An Owner can make a group public: its matches, scorecards and stats appear on cricbrew.com. Players marked as under 18 appear there as first name and initial only, with no photo or profile. Private groups never appear on the website.
Match photos and clips on cricbrew.com appear only when an Owner of a public group turns them on for that match, confirming nobody under 18 can be recognised in them. They are shown without names. The person who added a photo, or an Owner, can delete it, and anyone can report one to us.
Your public profile appears on cricbrew.com only if you turn it on, and then shows your stats from public groups only.
We don't sell personal data or share it with anyone for their own purposes.
Where it's kept, and who helps us
Data is stored with Google Firebase (database in Mumbai, India; sign-in and crash reports run on Google's servers, which may be outside India). The website is hosted by Vercel. Email is handled by Google Workspace. These providers process data for us under their terms and don't use it for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and data while you use CricBrew. When you delete your account, your account, profile, links and the match photos and clips you added are deleted at once, and from backups within 30 days. Finished matches stay with the group they were played in, as that group's history; they then carry only a scorer ID that no longer leads to anyone. A group's Owner can delete its matches. A group can be deleted only when it has no matches and no other members, because its matches are its players' records too; a group with matches that only you belonged to stays after your account is deleted, without you.
Your choices and rights
You can see and correct your details in the app, unlink yourself from a player record, turn your public profile off, leave a group, or delete your account. You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or erase it, by writing to privacy@cricbrew.com; we reply within 30 days. If you appear as a player in someone else's group and want your record changed or removed, ask that group's Owner, or write to us and we'll help.

Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
